IMI Critical Engineering Outside Sales Engineer - Nuclear, Southeast in Any city, United States

Overview

Conduct sales activities for CCI in the assigned region of the Americas, pursuing and securing bookings of Valves and other CCI products and in certain areas could also include Parts, Upgrades, Rebuilds and Field Service for all of CCI products in the Nuclear Industry. Sales activity coordination involves performing the following duties personally or in conjunction with CCI representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plan to close orders and meet and/or exceed annual sales goals for the region of responsibility.

  • Provide input and be able to direct factory sales engineers in preparation of proposals including input on strategy.

  • Build strong relationships with key personnel at potential customers.

  • Identifies and tracks all significant outage/turnaround activity, and arranges support activities.

  • Makes regular calls of power/utility plants and meets with operations, maintenance, engineering and purchasing personnel to promote more aggressive inspection and maintenance programs

  • Utilize CCI software for routine sales activities and outage management / territory development.

  • Conducts Severe Service Valve Training Seminars promoting CCI products, product training and preventative maintenance training programs to end users. Actively promoting the highest level of inspection and maintenance for all of CCI equipment.

  • Prepare and review region sales activities and marketing plans with co-workers and Supervisors on a monthly basis, including creating accurate itineraries for each week.

  • Reviews CCI installed base and identifies less active accounts. Develops and implements strategies for improving level of Aftermarket sales to these accounts.

  • Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the company's engineered product design, functions, applications, specifications, and assembly and disassembly procedures.

  • Ability to provide technical and marketing support to sales representatives if applicable.

  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product. (ie. ISA Local Meetings) preferred.

  • Tracks budget to keep expenses within guidelines.

  • Travel required

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience selling valves and/or instrumentation.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Knowledge of control valve sizing and specification.

  • Make informative and persuasive sales presentations to customers.

  • Knowledge of principles and theories of mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics.

  • Knowledge of severe service control valve competitor products.

  • Skills and experience in closing major sales.

  • Good organizational skills preferred.

  • Work in a multi-task environment is preferred.

  • Detail oriented is preferred.

  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.

  • Skills in identifying prospects for company products are preferred.

  • Traveling is required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; or three years of technical outside sales experience in area of responsibility with products and markets similar to those of CCI; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer minimum 5 years of valve experience in the nuclear industry. Strong background in the nuclear power industry preferred.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and legal documents.

  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
