IMI Critical Engineering Controller in Houston, Texas

Overview

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in a financial leadership role. The duties for the position are as follows:

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage all accounting functions for the Company on a day to day to basis

  • Ensure timely preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements and direct execution and management of financial reports to Management and the Parent Company.

  • Supervise monthly closing process of general ledger; create and manage accounting journal entries; oversee bank and all account reconciliations.

  • Extract sales and cost data from the current system and prepare meaningful, value added operational analysis and reporting for the Management Team to manage and grow the business.

  • Manage all bank accounts and ledgers: Daily Deposits, Transfers, Checks (including payroll), Wires, Reconciliations, and Monthly Bank Reporting Package.

  • Manage and administer A/R, and administer all customer credit and collections.

  • Manage and administer A/P, and create the Company’s purchasing protocol.

  • Verify appropriate payroll amounts on a monthly basis with a 3rd Party Provider.

  • Develop and maintain a system for accurate planning and forecasting.

  • Resolve and track inventory discrepancies/variances.

  • Work closely with the Management Team in evaluating the current processes and determining the best plans to assist the Management Team.

  • Assess, lead and manage the Company’s systems to ensure the Company is receiving the best service and forward-looking systems and related reports needed in a fast paced environment, which will also include an Executive Dash Board reporting system.

  • Ascertain proper internal controls for all accounting processes.

  • Assist with the annual external audit and managing & reporting Federal & State corporate taxes as needed by the Company’s Houston-based CPA firm; Appeal property renditions as needed and ensuring appropriate amounts are paid on a timely basis.

  • Responsibility and accountability for various job duties/responsibilities and special projects as directed and to be determined on own initiative.

Qualifications

  • Degreed in Accounting - With Manufacturing, Supervisory, ERP & KPI type Experience - MS Office Proficiency – Excel in particular

  • Ability to travel up to 5%

  • Other Required Skills – High integrity, strong communication, people and organizational skills; “can do” attitude, willing to get into the detail, while maintaining the ability to grow with the organization.
