We are looking for the immediate hire of a skilled, professional Numerical Control Programmer in our Rancho Santa Margarita, CA location. This person will work a 1 st shift schedule Monday through Friday and will work some Saturdays as needed. (Overtime paid) Excellent attendance is required in support of our manufacturing operations. Knowledge of CAM required; knowledge of Esprit software a plus!
This person will report to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager and direct/plan numerical control programs to produce valve bodies and components from engineering drawings.
Responsible for writing of new and maintenance of existing programs.
Investigates new cost reduction developments and applications for N/C operation (e.g. tools, methods, CAM)
Directs the preparation of N/C and CAM documentation for use by NC Programming manufacturing personnel.
Coordinates N/C and CAM methods and design criteria with other manufacturing and Engineering personnel. Meets with Manufacturing and Manufacturing engineering management to resolve N/C related production problems.
Manages the maintenance of N/C and CAM files and computer based data systems, including shop floor Direct Numerical Control (DNC) system.
Provides shop support for continuing N/C machine operations.
Evaluates engineering drawings to determine parts and tooling which can be economically and efficiently produced by N/C operations.
Determines the cutting tool path, speeds and feeds, and methods to be used on N/C machine tool.
Maintains and revises programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Prepares programs, including “Master Family of Parts” programs, for N/C machines through computer equipment.
Develops and prepares N/C documentation for use by machine operators.
Assists machine operators in tool and tape proofing.
Maintains tape library and related records.
Writes and/or revises programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Investigates new tooling/methods.
Must have effective communication skills with ability to interact across platforms with internal/external stakeholders
Knowledge of N/C machines, methods and practices in planning and defeloping operational programs for N/C machines.
Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and designs.
Knowledge of Esprit (version 2014 or later) 2-1/2 access turn/mill CNC programming.
Familiarity with general machine shop practices, production layout practices, sequences, tooling arrangements, machine setup, and instructions for machining operations.
Some knowledge of Esprit Post Development a plus
Needs experience in 2 axis lathe (VTL is a plus) and 3 axis mill
A background in machining is preferred, as well as experience with Solid Works
Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR six months to one year related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Solidworks and AutoCad).
